Mission Statement
In June of 1999 our association was formed by a handful of law enforcement officers representing local, county, state, and federal agencies determined to encourage and provide education, interaction, and networking between Crisis Negotiators in the State of Illinois.
Over the past decade our association has grown to include over 250 members from law enforcement, correctional, mental health, and criminal justice professionals dedicated to the safe and successful resolution when responding to a variety of crisis incidents. To help ensure that our members are prepared to respond when a crisis strikes, our association remains dedicated to the mission of providing our membership with the most current and effective Crisis Negotiation training, resources, ideologies, practices, and techniques available.
To remain steadfast to this mission, the associations board is working to improve our website in order to keep members up to date with email announcements, improve on making scenario training programs available during our annual conference in April as well as others events throughout the year, and to continue our efforts in obtaining contributors to our ICNA Scholarship Fund in order to help ensure funds are available for officers representing departments with limited or non-existent training funds to provide Crisis Negotiation training.
